- Is it possible to do the MOH on an electric mountain bike?
Yes, electric mountain bike are welcome at the MOH and for the first time in history they’ll have the right to a special race just for them: the E-MOH! See the programme above.
2 special categories (women and men) will be awarded.Competitors taking part in the Mountain Of Hell electric mountain bike race are subject to the same rules and regulations as competitors taking part in the Mountain Of Hell muscle mountain bike race.
However, there is a difference between this category and the course for the final. All E Bike competitors will be required to follow an uphill variation of the classic course. They will nevertheless be included in the mass start of the final alongside the other competitors, and will have benefited from a special wave the day before during the placement round on the classic route. [The organisers reserve the right to adapt these specifications according to the number of participants in this category and the snow conditions on the day of the start of the final].

For the MOH and E-MOH, you must attend the race briefing!
The organisers will give you all the information you need about the route and any final recommendations…
Meet at Place des 2 Alpes on Friday 20 June at 6.30pm for the E-MOH and on Saturday 21 June at 6.30pm for the MOH. - What kind of equipment is mandatory?
- mountain bike/ATVs must be in good general condition, with the frame free of cracks and the brakes in good working order.
- an approved full face helmet is MANDATORY.
- back protectors, elbow pads and long gloves must be worn.
- the wearing of neck protectors, knee pads and shoulder pads is strongly recommended.
Technical checks may be done out at any time.
If the organisation detects any points that do not comply with these criteria, the rider will be refused the start. - Will there be clothing lockers at the start of Saturday qualifying rounds and Sunday race?
For the MOH and E-MOH: no, there are no instructions at the start of the qualifiers. No equipment can be collected by the organisers.
However, each rider will be able to leave clothes at the start of the final.
The lockers will be returned to the Palais des Sports at the end of the race. - Is there an alternative for riders who don't want to take the Black Garden to the finish line?
Yes, you can take the Venosc track. In fact, the organisers have set up a time barrier at the entrance to the Black Garden to direct the most tired participants onto the classic Venosc track.
- Are reconnaissance runs compulsory?
Course reconnaissance for each race is not compulsory but is strongly recommended. As the name suggests, they allow you to reconnoitre the various places where the race will take place. In order to limit the risks, the organisers strongly recommend that you take part in these reconnaissance sessions. Furthermore, the organisers cannot be held responsible for any failure on the part of the riders on race day.
- Is it possible to use the Venosc cable car on the day of the final?
The Venosc gondola opens at 8am every morning, so it’s impossible for the rider to be on time for the start of his final. So they have to make their own arrangements to get directly to Les 2 Alpes and take the Jandri 3S gondola.
