Who wouldn’t love this golf course? Yes, it’s only a 9-hole but it enjoys an exceptional setting in the snow-capped summits of the Ecrins massif. It’s a natural course that isn’t very long, so tee shots are vital when aiming at its greens, which are fairly fast and sloping. The fairways are bordered by elevated roughs and some very enticing bunkers… Did we tell you it was a mountain links by the way…?

You’ll know Les 2 Alpes golf course like the back of your hand!

HOLE 1 “THE LAST EASY”. PAR 3.

“A great short par 3”, with a slight slope, a green well defended by a barrier of bunkers.
Altitude of 1,652 to 1,660 metres.

HOLE 2 “SAINT ANDREWS”. PAR 4.

Left dog-leg with an out-of-bounds to the left, requires two good hits for the par.
Altitude of 1,653 to 1,670 metres.

HOLE 3 “TURNBERRY AILSA COURSE”. PAR 3.

Nicknamed the volcano by some, a very difficult hole off the back tees.
Altitude of 1,668 to 1,696 metres.

 

 

HOLE 4 “NAIRN”. PAR 4.

Strong hitters can reach the green in a single stroke, out-of-bounds to the left and welcoming bunkers, sloping fairway.
Altitude of 1,679 to 1,677 metres.

HOLE 5 “GLENEAGLES”. Par 5/4.

Facing the slope, the most physical hole on the course, several bunkers, rough and out-of-bounds to the right and left.
On PAR 4 two very good hits required to reach the elevated green.
Easier on PAR 5.
Altitude of 1,656 to 1,701 metres.

 

 

HOLE 6 “CARNOUSTIE”. PAR 4.

A great tee shot, a little approach shot to reach the green, and the birdie is all yours… But watch out for the slope!
Altitude of 1,719 to 1,666 metres.

 

 

HOLE 7 “BLAIRGOWRIE ROSEMOUNT”. PAR 3.

A challenging hole, bunker in front of the green, an out-of-bounds behind, it’s a generous green that rewards very well aimed shots.
Altitude of 1,672 to 1,670 metres.

 

 

HOLE 8 “TROON”. PAR 3.

Superb par 3, 182 metres with a vertical drop of 49 metres and a breathtaking view, lateral water hazard to the right.
Altitude of 1,719 to 1,670 metres.

 

 

HOLE 9 “MUIRFIELD”. PAR 3.

A Scottish-style hole with rough, more rough… and bunkers.
Red stakes to the left along the fairway, where many golfer’s hopes take flight!
Altitude of 1,660 to 1,652 metres.

 

 

Getting started with golf

Put aside whatever preconceived ideas you had about golf. It’s become much more accessible and increasingly popular. Even if you’ve never held a club before, it’s not too late to start!

Be aware though, you may well get hooked and never want to put it back down again!

Meet at the driving range on the Club House level, at the foot of the slopes. That’s where every single golfer starts out! Before you can get going on a course, it’s essential to spend some time on the driving range hitting balls, again and again and again. You’ll learn how to hold a grip, work on your stance, your position…

Challenge yourself and your friends to find out who has the best swing and who’ll be able to hit the ball the furthest.

Need a lesson?

You can’t really learn how to play golf by reading manuals or watching videos. Discovering the discipline with a professional is proven to be an excellent way to get started with the sport! You’re going to learn the right moves, the right posture… you’ll become familiar with the vocabulary: swing, stance, green, bunker, putter… you’ll learn all the correct golfing etiquette…
